For this SLJ activity we designed a prosthetic leg for this elephant “Mosha”. The back story behind the missing leg was when Mosha was calf at 7 months old she stepped on a landmine and it destroyed her front leg. I picked this design cause it represents my culture “Samoa”.

For this summer learning journey task we’ve been challenged to do math based on centipedes. For one of the the task we’ve had to make our problem and show the solution. 200 divided by 4 equals 50.
For our Sumer learning Journey we have created a comic based off a critter(Animals with power) The animal I picked was the Dung Beetle. Dung beetles are incredibly strong insects, some lifting over 1,100 times their weight, and are vital to ecosystems for aerating soil and cycling nutrients, with three types: rollers, tunnellers, and dwellers, all using dung for food and nesting.
Something I enjoyed was learning the Dung Beetle’s powers and how it impacts our ecosystem.
For this task we we’re challenged to make a diorama and a DLO to show and tell a snapshot of the event we’ve picked. I’ve picked the Polynesian Panthers because I thought it would be interesting to know the past of New Zealand and find out why the Polynesian Panthers were formed and the story behind why the government in 1971 ” Robert Muldoon”.
Something I enjoyed was creating the diorama and letting my creativity run wild.
For this reading task we’ve made a DLO to show our understanding of this topic “the charge of the light brigade”.

In reading one of our tasks were to create a summary that explained the ballad, Waltzing Matilda by Banjo Paterson, in exactly 25 words, no more or less. This narrative poem explains the supposed swagman that was trying to steal a jumbuck ( sheep ), with his tucker bag (bag made for food, especially made for swagmen). During this attempt the squatter ( the owner of the land ) had rode through the lands on his thoroughbred horse and had caught the unlucky swagman,
For this task our main focus this week was learning and exploring about the shearers strike. Our group looked at the two perspectives of the shearers strike. When we read both of them we formed an opinion of which we thought was a better argument than the other. our main focus this week was learning and exploring about the shearers strike.
What I found interesting about this activity was learning how they persuade to stand up for themselves and persuade people to use their own voice and rights.
LI: To understand poetry can transform everyday life into something meaningful.
Poets use various techniques to make this happen, creating specific feelings and moods for the reader.
For this weeks reading we’ve got challenged to create a Google vid that showcases one of Hone Tuwhare Poems, the one we have chosen was “Rain”. First we needed to create images using volcabulary to illustrate more images using prompts to connect to the poem.Then we recorded ourselves reading the poem.
Something I enjoyed about this create activity was using my voice to create and share with others.

For this challenge we’ve created a procedural text on how to create a paper brachiosaurus.
